Google just informed us all on Twitter that Panda 3.4 is underway https://twitter.com/#!/google/status/183312403100995584

Actually we don’t know what the update is as of yet because nobody knows for sure how substantial this update is. However Google states that only about 1.6% of all searches will be affected which is a very small number so my guess is this is simply a continuation of what was started with 3.3

Right now I am pretty confident that more Private Blog Networks are about to be hit and keyword diversity in anchor text is likely to be given continued importance.

As soon as I can get some factual information I’ll update you with what’s happening …

Semantic SearchThere is a lot of speculation running wild right now about Google’s upcoming Semantic Search algorithm changes and what it means in terms of SEO and getting ranked.

Google estimates between 10 – 20% of searches will be affected.

The reality is, that isn’t a lot. The very first Panda update affected about the same amount and while it certainly caused some damage to a few folks, most people’s rankings went unchanged. Continue reading »

SEO Money TrainerIt really wasn’t all that long ago I was out of work, had no car, more credit card debt then I ever had in my life and really wasn’t sure how I was going to make it each day.

If you have ever been so broke that you are making choices between which bills to pay each month because they can’t all be covered, than you know how I felt.

Then my life literally changed overnight when I figured out a way to easily put my website on the top of the Search Engines for practically anything I wanted.

I had spent nearly a year in Online Marketing trying to sell other people and had barely made a dime when I figured this out.

Probably the most astonishing thing to me was how easy it was to make money when you are getting that “highly targeted” search traffic that is already looking for what you have to offer.

Instead of trying to sell or pitch my products and services, I was getting people to visit my website that already wanted what I had to offer.

The results were AMAZING too. I literally went from being dead broke to making over $3,000 in just 10 days! Continue reading »

My love/hate  relationship continues with Google. Nothing on this planet affects my emotions in such a dichotomous way.

While I do wish their was another search engine that pushed the competition a little bit more, and at times Google makes my blood boil… It’s a very fascinating company with a truly great product (there is a reason nobody uses Bing) and an uncanny ability to keep you on your toes.

In their recent effort to be more open about their inner workings, they have posted this video from one of their recent weekly staff meetings. Call me a super nerd from another planet but I found it incredible fun to watch!

It’s been extremely shocking to me that so many people have been saying that Private Blog Networks (PBN’s) were not specifically targeted by Google. Of course they always base it on their own experience which is a poor way to judge anything.

They think because their sites were not smacked and they have hundreds or even thousands of backlinks on PBN’s that the people who got spanked were doing something else that was “really wrong”.

I personally spent over 50 hours doing in-depth research on this and the only single factor I could find among sites that were penalized was PBN’s. Of course Google is never going to get anything 100% right. Some sites were hit that had never built a single link on a PBN, at least not themselves anyway.

But I knew sooner or later, some real proof would come out. Well it came directly from the horses mouth. Matt Cutts (head of Google’s web spam team) recently posted on his own twitter account that PBN’s specifically are on Google’s radar. Here is the post.

He even went so far as to link to a forum which pointed out that ALN lost over 5,297 domains in a single week! You can read the thread here.

So what does this mean? Is writing high quality articles and publishing them on article directories dead too? Continue reading »

Google-Over-Optimization-PenaltyGoogle and Bing recently sat down for an Q & A session about SEO and where it’s going. Some very interesting things were revealed in that conversation.

For the first time it was mentioned that over optimized websites will get penalties.

Over Optimization Penalties now seem to include:

1. Pure White Hat On Page Optimization

Unless you are a rediculous student of White Hat On Page Optimization though, I wouldn’t worry too much about that. Most likely it will be targeting people who have too many optimized images, h1 tags, keywords etc…

This really isn’t a new idea, it’s just the first time they have admitted they do it. Google loves having plausible deniability after all.  Continue reading »

Talent is Overrated – That’s the name of a book I just finished by Geoff Colvin and he made a couple points about Success, Deliberate Practice and Passion in that book which really stuck out to me and I wanted to share them with you in this video and give you some of my personal thoughts and experiences on it as well.

While I was recording, there was some sunlight coming in at a really funky angle and it kept blinding me haha. Turns out it is just as annoying to watch on video as it was to try and record while it was happening.

Sorry about that but I hope you enjoy the video anyway because it’s good stuff :)

Turned Off Link AnalysisIn the last Panda Update (version 3.3) Google announced to the world they turned off one of their old link analysis algorithms which lead to a great deal of speculation and in some cases outright panic.

Google often turns off old algorithms though and in many cases it replaces them with better ones so this news shouldn’t have been shocking on its own merit. However, there was some major shifts that took place in the rankings and this exacerbated the fears.

I haven’t been able to figure out exactly what was turned off and the truth is we may never know. But I do want to clear up a huge misconception about it that is not accurate. Continue reading »

Monsanto Genetically Modified FoodsMonsanto and government corruption are teaming up to take away your rights across the globe as they raid organic, natural vegetable and milk farms and stores.

This is the first time and hopefully the last time I will write on this blog completely off topic but this is such an important issue I feel as though it is my duty to share some thoughts with you on what is happening not just in the United States but around the world.

I’ll keep this as short as possible with some videos for you to watch as well as a couple of links I feel are worth reading. You can do your own research from there and decide for yourself what you think.

Monsanto for the last few decades has been gaining a solid foothold on world control. How you ask? Well it’s simple really, those who control the food control the world.

They have made it so they have the right to take virtually any farmers land away that does not use their seeds: Watch The Future Of Food to see this in action. Continue reading »

Bounce Back RateLet’s start off with the basics. What exactly is a Bounce Back Rate and Click Through Rate?

Bounce Back Rate (BBR)

When someone is searching for websites in the search engines and they click on your website. If they hit the back button and go back into the search results, that’s a “Bounce Back”. Whether they were reviewing your website for 10 seconds or 10 hours, doesn’t matter.

Naturally this means the percentage of people who hit the back button determines your BBR.  Continue reading »
