SEO Link MonsterDoes this hands off system created by Brad Callen and Dori Friend, really provide 1,260 high quality contextual backlinks every single month? Yes it does but be careful what you wish for!

ATTENTION: This network was nearly 100% deindexed by Google as were almost all other Private Blog Networks. While SEO Link Monster is undergoing changes to relaunch, my suggestion is to stay far away or risk getting your own website heavily penalized.

You can still read my original review below until I am able to verify the full extent of the problems and how they are being addressed. However I have removed my link to SEOLM as my advice at this time is to hold off on their service.

I’ll break everything down into sections and simplify the whole process so you will know exactly what SEO Link Monster offers, and whether or not it’s right for you.

The 2 good things that Link Monster gave you is:

1. Contextual Linking

A contextual link is a backlink in the middle of a sentence and typically in the middle of a webpage.

In traditional articles, the author gets to include a backlink to themselves at the bottom of the article in what’s called a resource box. The search engines being the clever little boogers they are though, realized these backlinks are not typically as high quality or relevant as backlinks placed in the middle of an article.

Accordingly, they give more “link juice” to contextual backlinks.

2. Anchor Text

I wrote a whole post on Anchor Text (btw, that is a contextual backlink I just created within my own site). If you need or want to read more on anchor texts, click on that link to get the WHOLE scoop.

In short though, a backlink is more powerful when you can use your “money keywords” in the anchor text.

The Problems

While all of the above sounds great there have been some massive problems with SEO Link Monster and their network was deindexed and many of the websites who had backlinks on their network were severely penalized.

What Do I Do Now?

Of course I am bias towards my own course but my personal SEO results and those of my students speak for themselves. I recommened you check out my personal training course http://seomoneytrainer.com and gain the skills to get on top and stay there!

  1. I wonder if the aged domains that the links are on have much traffic anymore.

  2. I’ve always been told, never buy backlinks as this is black hat … the issue i have with this is, wouldn’t it seem a little fishy if a site with a few links shows up the next day with an additional 1,260 in it’s pocket from an exclusive area it has no business with in the first place … I am seeing this the wrong way?

    • Michael, you aren’t really “buying” backlinks. What you are buying is the right to post on their private network.

Now if you are posting spammy articles just to get a backlink, yes that is blackhat.

If you are writing real articles that add value to the Internet though, there is nothing black hat about that.

Also, you won’t get 1,260 backlinks the next day. The articles get dripped out in a more natural process and if you feel comfortable have less backlinks, you can do less.

1,260 is the most you can get if you did that much work.

  3. What a nightmare, I have signed up for it and I have a couple of websites that have taken a massive backward step.

    I am really worried.

Not 100% it’s there fault as Google apparently have just recently changed how they evaluate anchor text links and it could be something to do with that.

I just wish I’d tried it on less important websites initially, but as I trusted B Callen I thought it would be fine.

    • Well don’t worry too much. If you just signed up you couldn’t have had too man bad links created and it’s not like every single website or page they had was bad.

I knew someone else behind the project and thought they would do a better job with it as well but the good thing is you caught it early. Hopefully they will get the problems corrected.

And yes, Google just had another major update. However, they are still tweaking the update and there will be more changes coming. Don’t stress over it too much. Just keep building quality content so you get quality backlinks and everything will work out great in the long run :)
